How To Choose
Wireless Phone Plans
Here are some questions to consider when choosing wireless
phone plans:
- Where, How and When you will be using your cell phone?
- Will you make most of your calls in your local area,
in a zone or all around the nation?
- When will you use your cell phone the most;
in the daytime, or evenings and weekends?
- Will the cell phone be mainly used in case of emergencies?
- How much are you willing to spend on wireless service each
month?
Choose the plan that best fits and caters to your budget. Since
most wireless phone plans require a one or two year contract, you
will want to avoid the situation where you have to wait desperately
for your contract to expire. If you do not know which plan to choose,
it's usually better to choose the one with the lowest monthly charge.
It is quite a hassle to downgrade cell phone plans after the contract
is signed.
Before that, you may consider prepaid
cell phone plans. This would be a good way to estimate and determine
the amount of minutes you need. Although these cell phone plans
will cost a little more per minute, they will prevent you from getting
locked into a plan you don't want. Identify your usage and choose
the appropriate cell phone plan that fits your budget.
Currently, the cost of owning a cell phone is at an all time low.
With the introduction of new family
cell phone plans, it can offer savings to a group of two or
more users. These plans usually charge a fee for each additional
phone, so it is more suitable for a family with at least two regular
users.
Wireless service providers generally offer three types of wireless
phone plans with three types of coverage: local, regional, and national.
Within each of those types, service providers offer plans with different
amount of minutes. Some cell phone plans will include free or discounted
phones and basic plan features. On top of that, you will be charged
additional fees for extra features, for using more minutes beyond
your plan, and for roaming or long distance charges. |
