Verizon Family Plan

The advantage of Verizon Wireless family plans is that the call quality is generally considered excellent with stronger reception and less dropped calls than other carriers. This is probably due to the fact that Verizon Wireless has the largest nationwide network. They also offer great value for their family plans. You can usually get about 20% more anytime minutes for the same price with most competitors.

However, their promotions are not always as competitive compared to other cellular plan providers. The coverage area is often inconsistent and customer reviews publicized that they have horrible customer service. You shouldn't have to deal with it if you made sure everything is what you expected. As always, it's better to know the advantages and disadvantages of each family plan provider before signing on the dotted line.

Verizon Wireless Family plans differ only in the number of anytime minutes and the mobile-to-mobile feature. Each package includes unlimited night and weekends, free roaming and free long distance. Also included is voice mail, caller ID, call waiting, conference calling, call forwarding, text messaging, 411 Direct, and no answer/busy transfer.

The mobile-to-mobile option allows you to talk to other Verizon Wireless users and would be great to use if many of your friends or family are already Verizon users. This feature is included in all family plans. For the primary phone of the Verizon Wireless family plan, the mobile-to-mobile service is unlimited and 1000 shared mobile-to-mobile for the other phones. An upgrade to all phone unlimited mobile-to-mobile for $10 a month. This increases the cost of the family plan, but for those that won't use that option often, it doesn't matter.
